Derumi Stables mission is to provide a fun, relaxing, and quality service for the discerning horse enthusiast......and we cater for all disciplines!
We provide high-class agistment packages tailored to your/your horse's needs and an environment where you can have fun and focus on your goals! We can offer in-house training and support, and/or help you find the right trainers and service providers within our huge network across all disciplines.
We will support you all the way as you wish, or leave you to come and go as you please - its all up to you!
Our facilities include a 50x20 indoor arena (with sand/rubber surface, auto sprinklers to turn on before you ride, floodlights, and mirrors), a large round yard with sand/rubber surface, full-size outdoor sand dressage arena with sprinklers and floodlights, breezy and insulated 9 stable complex (with tack room, warm and cold water wash bay, safe tie ups with option of cross or single ties), a huge jumping/training paddock, 20 acres of bush trails, safe post and rail fencing, automatic waterers, 24/7 supervision, security, and support, free float parking, and a great group of very friendly and support people!
The business is owned and managed by Amy and Alex de Graaf. Amy alone has over 25 years experience with horses in Aus and across many states. Amy started off as a very young rider and was self-taught at the age of 8 on her first pony. She then went to pony club in Wodonga (Vic) and did a lot of eventing on 3 different horses throughout her teens. In 2000 she was introduced to dressage by a good friend and instantly fell in love with the discipline. She also has a very long history and love for the Arabian horse which she got from her Uncle Bill Gale who has been breeding the most elegant Arabians for over 40 years. Bill has recently passed on 3 exceptional mares and the stud name Gale Arabians for Amy to continue his legacy. She is very proud to do so!
Amy now concentrates on breeding and training her beloved Arabians, Arabian derivatives and Warmbloods. She trains with Rochelle, Tina, and Greg from KEA Training Stables, and currently rides her talented 4yo chestnut mare Ruby Bright R (Regardez Moi x Jive Magic), and has some super young horses coming up including yearling Raining Diamonds who just won Aus National Junior Champion Arabian Warmblood under the incredible handling of Greg Andrews. Amy also owns a yearling WB gelding Rome R (Regardez Moi x Jive Magic) who is a 3/4 brother to Ruby and also looking to be a very exciting dressage prospect for the future. Lastly, on 2 Nov 13 we welcomed our first foal to the family, a beautiful leggy dark brown colt by Richmond H imp., out of a beautiful liver chestnut mare by Donnerblitz imp. We named him Rising Auriga and he is sure to be something special as a future dressage horse, just like his parentage on both sides!
